本キャンパスにおいて、アメリカの名門コロンビア大学Teachers CollegeのThe Center for International Foreign Language Teacher Education (CIFLTE)主催によるイベント「The TCSOL/TESOL Dual Certificate Program Open House Event in Osaka」を開催しました。
　イベントは２部構成で行われ、第１部の講演会では、第二言語教授法の世界的な権威である同大学のZhaoHong Han教授が特別ゲストスピーカーとして登壇され、タスクベース言語教育の観点からChatGPTの活用法や、語学教育に関する大変興味深いお話をいただきました。参加者は熱心に耳を傾け、講演後には活発なディスカッションも行われました。また、質疑応答の時間も設けられ、参加者たちから多くの質問や感想が寄せられました。その後、第２部として、軽食を取りながらの交流会が行われました。
　今回のOpen House Eventは、過去のサマー・プログラムに参加された方や、コロナ禍にオンライン・プログラムに参加された方々をはじめ、全国から英語教育に携わっておられる方々、計２７名にご参加いただき、多彩なアイデアを共有することができる大変貴重なイベントとなりました。様々な背景を持つ方々が交流できるこのようなイベントを通じて、語学教育の現場がますます発展していくことを期待しています。

The Center for International Foreign Language Teacher Education (CIFLTE) Teachers College,Columbia University and Osaka Gakuin University held an open house event for theTCSOL/TESOL Dual Summer Certificate program in Osaka. Professor ZhaoHong Han of Teachers College, Columbia University delivered a presentation on 'Chat GPT, Task-based Language Teaching, and Second Language Acquisition.' Her talk highlighted the utilization of Chat GPT from the perspective of task-based language teaching and covered essential aspects of language education.
Attendees engaged in enthusiastic discussions, posing questions and sharing their perspective on how ChatGPT can play a role in second language classrooms. A networking session with light refreshments was held after the lecture. Approximately 27 individuals attended this open house session. Among the participants were graduates of the online and in-person summer certificate program as well as educators in the field of English language teaching in Japan. This Open House fostered valuable interactions and idea exchanges among participants with diverse backgrounds. We hope this Open House further enhances the development of language education.
