Housing

Students participating in our program can choose from the following housing options:

  1. OGU Student Apartment
  2. OGU Dormitory (female students only)
  3. OGU Student Sharehouse (A male student only)
  4. Finding own accommodation (Contracting an apartment or guesthouse)

OGU Student Apartments, Dormitry and Student Sharehouse

Searching for an apartment in Japan can be very difficult for international students due to the Japanese system requiring reikin (gift money for the landlord) shikikin (deposit) and hoshonin (A Japanese Guarantor), and minimum 1 year contract. For that reason Osaka Gakuin University has arranged a selection of housings that require not so expensive gift money and deposit, do not ask for guarantor, and allow our students to stay even for less than 1 year. These housings are contracted to Osaka Gakuin University and students cannot move out during the contract period. Also, they need to pay full amount for the last month no matter on what day they move out in the month.

For more detail in OGU housings, refer to the Information Guide Books (English, Japanese and Chinese).

Finding Own Accommodation (Contracting an apartment or sharehouse)

Students who do not wish to stay in an OGU student apartment or sharehouse are required to find their own accommodation. NOTE: Osaka Gakuin University cannot act as a guarantor for individual housing contracts.
