Did you know that, in the Seto Inland Sea, there lies an island called "Gakuin Island"?
Uninhabited and with a 1.2km perimeter, the island is officially called "Sasudejima" and is part of the Kasaoka Islands located in Kasaoka City, Okayama Prefecture.
Gakuin Island, which boasts a 25-year history, is home to OGU's seminar house (Coastal Training Center), where students from the Hospitality Business Administration division in the Business Administration faculty conduct their annual training camp.

At the top of a small mountain on an uninhabited island surrounded by the calm waters of the Seto Inland Sea, at the end of a mountain path in the middle of a forest where it seems like you could run into Totoro at any minute, lies a wooden, single story seminar house. There, students can enjoy the leisurely pace of 'island time' as they eat and sleep under one roof, able to concentrate on their seminar research, all while enjoying barbecues, a private beach, and stargazing on clear nights. While enjoying all nature has to offer, students are able to deepen the relationship with not only their fellow students, but with their professors as well.

Since 2015, students in Professor Goto's seminar class have been working on a media research fieldwork project called, "～Seminar #510 PBL Gakuin Island Trip Promotion Project～", where the students use the Gakuin Island website, radio commercials, Instagram, and photographic guidebooks to promote the "Gakuin Island+ (Plus) Project" where participants use Gakuin Island as a base, and go island hopping around the Kasaoka Islands.
