Osaka Gakuin University hosted the TCSOL/TESOL Dual Certificate Summer Program in Osaka in collaboration with the Center for International Foreign Language Teacher Education (CIFLTE) Teachers College, Columbia University. The program began with the TCSOL week led by Dr. Liu from Columbia University.
TCSOL (Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages)

The first week of the program, from July 15th to July 19th, focused on Chinese Educational Linguistics to provide participants with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to become effective Chinese language instructors. The following are two example topics covered by Dr. Liu:

• Tonal developments of the Chinese language
• Chinese syntax
