アメリカの名門・コロンビア大学Teachers CollegeのThe Center for International Foreign Language Teacher Education (CIFLTE)との共催により、「TCSOL/TESOL Dual Certificate Summer Program in Osaka, Japan 2025」が本学にて開催されています。このプログラムは、言語教育の専門性を高めたい方を対象に、理論と実践の両面から教授法を学ぶことを目的としています。
＊TCSOL（Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages）は、中国語を母国語としない学習者に中国語を教えるための教授法を指します。

第1週目となるTCSOLコースは、7月14日（月）から7月18日（金）まで開催され、国内外から11名の参加者が集まりました。コロンビア大学のLiu教授にご登壇いただき、言語理論に基づいた中国語教授法を短期間で集中的にご指導いただきました。以下は、主な学びのポイントです：

• Phonology in Chinese：中国語の音韻論（発音の仕組みや音のルール）
• Discourse grammar in Chinese：中国語の談話文法（文の並び方や話の流れの中で、文法がどのように使われているのかについて）
• Chinese Morphology：中国語の形態論（単語の形や構造について）

参加者からのコメント： 「その日の講義で学んだ内容に関連した参考文献や、私の興味のあるトピックに関する文献をたくさん紹介していただき、授業外でも理解を深めることができました。講義形式の授業が中心でしたが、先生と「対話」をしているような感覚がありました。Liu先生はとてもカリスマ的です！」

Program Report: TCSOL/TESOL Dual Certificate Summer Program in Osaka, Japan 2025

Osaka Gakuin University is excited to once again partner with the Center for International Foreign Language Teacher Education (CIFLTE) at Teachers College, Columbia University to host the TCSOL/TESOL Dual Certificate Summer Program!

The program kicked off with an intensive week of TCSOL (Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages) classes, led by Dr. Liu from Columbia's Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures.

From July 14 to 18, participants took a deep dive into Chinese Educational Linguistics, exploring both foundational theories as well as the latest research shaping the future of Chinese language instruction.
Among the many topics covered, here are just a couple highlights from the first week:

• Phonology in Chinese
• Discourse grammar in Chinese
• Chinese Morphology

Here's what some of this week's participants had to say about Dr. Liu's course:
"Dr. Liu is very charismatic! He will cite sources or recommend students further reading materials to encourage us to take time outside of the classroom to read further into the topics we're interested in. Despite the class (mainly) being lectures, you still feel like it's a conversation (with the professor)."

"The class is full of teachers and linguistically attuned students who have the same shared interests and passion, and we have been applying it in different environments...so it's pretty awesome!"

《プログラムの特徴》

「TCSOL/TESOL Summer 2025 Dual Certificate Program in Osaka 」とは、アメリカの名門・コロンビア大学 Teachers College のThe Center for International Foreign Language Teacher Education (CIFLTE) と大阪学院大学(OGU)が提携し、英語・中国語指導者を対象に実施する3週間のサマープログラムです。

本プログラムでは、コロンビア大学の教授陣による直接指導のもと、言語理論に基づいた英語・中国語教授法を集中的に学ぶことができます。特に、「タスクベース・ラーニング（Task-Based Language Teaching=TBLT）」に焦点を当てることで、コミュニカティブ・ランゲージ・ティーチング (Communicative language teaching=CLT)への理解を深めることを目的としています。
